Dinner with Rhinos

Today we went to dinner at a local game reserve.  You expect to eat out in the bush and have a nice dinner, but you don't expect to see a lot of game.  This game reserve is called Mokolodi Nature Reserve and is known for good game but not the big five.  Early in the day we had taken an afternoon game drive and were able to see a giraffe, two twin cheetahs, warthogs, ostrich, and many different antelopes.

So we settled in for a nice relaxed dinner on their patio with a thatched roof and ordered dinner, which was, of course, meat because in southern africa, that is all they eat.  You will rarely find a lot of vegetables on your plate, you typically need to order those separately.  However, I digress, as we began eating a few antelopes came up near the patio and began to eat, which was a nice treat, and then as we were finishing dinner a teenage rhino and mother showed up to have dinner.  It was really the closest I have ever been to a rhino, they reminded me of my parents dog Baxter sticking their noses above the patio wall trying to see what was for dinner.
